TEDCO TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

Tamboula Ethnic Dance Company (TEDCO) is flexible to work with all types of presenters. Our technical requirements depend on the venue and the scale of the performance. Generally, the company brings the costumes and necessary equipment needed for the performance. The presenter is responsible for providing the performance space as follows:

Stage:

The stage area must be 30” wide X 30” deep minimum with a smooth floor, even and sprung; heated (65 to 75 F), at least one wing free of obstruction each side.

Dressing rooms:

At least two heated, properly maintained, separate rooms; with tables, chairs, mirrors, clothes racks, sufficient light for make-up and electrical outlets. Each room must be able to fit three people.  (Restrooms are not to be considered as dressing rooms).

Sound:

The company uses live drumming and depending on the venue a minimum of three microphones is needed for the sound and one handheld microphone for a vocalist. Some pieces use recorded music (CD or iPod). Presenter will be notified if a CD or iPod player is necessary. Three chairs will be needed for the drummers.

Lighting:

Lighting varies with the scale of the performance but usually basic house light is necessary. Notification will be made to the presenter if special lighting is required.

Crew:

Presenter should provide the personnel for stage set-up and operation of the equipment necessary for the presentation and a minimum of two people for load-in and load-out.

Set-up/stage rehearsal:

A minimum of one hour is needed for set-up and sound check before presentation. Some performances require four to eight hours technical rehearsal on or prior to the day of the presentation.

Hospitality:

Bottled water (non-carbonated) would be appreciated.  It is optional to provide refreshments after the performance but as a suggestion, presenter can offer juice, fruit, vegetable tray, etc…
